Hi there!
I’ve installed and get running a PDC based on Calculate Directory Server 13.4.
Everything has been working fine until I’ve tried to attach a Windows 7 workstation to the Domain.
I got several error messages, and tried different solutions from forums and so, in Google.
Nothing seems to work, and in some forums the recommendation is migrating to samba 4.
I don’t know if this will be taken in account in CDS near future, or if it’s a painless change we can do.
I’ve read that samba 4 is quite different from earlier versions.
I’ll appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
Regards to all,
Andrés.
Try this:
2. Change windows registry on windows 7:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters]
DomainCompatibilityMode=dword:00000001
DNSNameResolutionRequired=dword:00000000
3. Then go to
<<Group Policy -> Administrative Templates -> System -> User Profiles>>
and enable “Do not check for user ownership of Roaming Profile Folders”
4. Attach a Windows 7 workstation to the Domain
Iurii:
I tried these steps you proposed, but I get a new error message:
The join operation was not sucessful. This could be because an existing computer was previously created using a different set of credentials. Use a different computer name, or contact your administrator to remove any stale conflicting account. The error was: Access is denied
So I changed the pc name and tried again, but got the same error message.
Do you have another recommendation?
The user has domain admin rights as recommended in docs (cl-useradd -p --gid “Domain Admins” -c “Domain administrator” d_admin samba).
Thank you very much,
Andrés.
I’ll change my question:
Does anyone have a Windows 7 workstation attached to a PDC in CDS 13.x running fine?
Thank you very much.
Regards.
Andrés.
