Using /etc/portage/binrepos.conf

Hi folks, new user here.

As of august 2025, the Gentoo Wiki seems to encourage using sync-uri variable /etc/portage/binrepos.conf to specify binary package host, deprecating PORTAGE_BINHOST in /etc/portage/make.conf. Do you guys Calculate Linux maintainers plan to switch to this semantic in the future?

Isn’t binhost in Gentoo an experimental feature but an established fact?
By default, or if you want, you can do it yourself.
