updated to 11.12, the portage-utils crashed

when i updated to 11.12, the qsearch could not be used, throw the error message:

calculate channing # qsearch finger
search: chdir to PORTDIR '${EPREFIX}/usr/portage' failed: No such file or directory

Up to what version and how you updated? Version 11.2 no were produced, was 11.3 in March.

it’s typing wrong.
i updated 11.9 to 11.12 use ‘eix-sync && emerge -uDN world’

Are you reading this article and do it before you update? Please do “emerge --sync”.
