Судя по всему, проблема в libpng. Если вы обновляли libpng, то следует проследовать инструкциям по обновлению (можно найти на gentoo.org, перевод на gentoo.ru)
точно таже проблема,последние две недели ,хромиум,вээлси,ещё некоторые программы…причём даже на свежеустановленном на чистый диск калкулейт10.4…если после установки не делать eix-sync после установки,то всё ставится,после синхронизации портежей появляется такая ошибка,revdep-rebuild выводит кучу broken и предлагает всё исправлять вручную…

Revdep-rebuild делают после обновления каких-либо пакетов.Если хотите установить CLD-10.4,то после установки не обновляйте мир,а для начала обновите libpng,так как сказано здесь: http://www.gentoo.ru/content/libpng .И только после этого обновляйте остальной мир.А вообще уже вышел CLD10.9 - там такой проблемы,вроде-бы,нет,может стоит попробовать установить его.
вопрос то в том что буквально пару недель назад ничего подобного не наблюдалось,всё прекрасно ставилось и работало,а сейчас облом при тех же самых действиях(описанных кстати в рекомендованном видео мануале по установке),буквально сразу после выхода 10.9,в10.4 отказывается нормально работать система портежей, это никак не связано?..ладно будем копать…
благо я еще только начинаю этот путь и поэтому просто перейду на более свежий релиз, однако в дальнейшем не хотелосьбы такх проблем при выходе нового релиза…

Нет, это никак не связано.
Вообще для сборки дистрибутива берется самый свежий stage3. Представьте что Вы взяли stage3 полугодичной давности. Попробуйте например найти в портежах samba-client, samba-server, samba-lib. Какое-то время они держатся в маске, затем безвозвратно удаляются.
