We are pleased to announce the release of Calculate Linux 22.0.1.
Calculate Linux Desktop featuring the KDE (CLD), Cinnamon (CLDC), LXQt (CLDL), Mate (CLDM) or Xfce (CLDX and CLDXS) desktop, Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS) and Calculate Scratch Server (CSS) are now available for download.
Changes
- Btrfs uses cache v2 by default, which is a more efficient cache on
large capacity disks. - QXL paravirtual graphic card used in QEMU now operates via
modesetting. - The syncing protocol for Portage has been changed from Git to HTTPS (as GitHub
will no longer support Git since March 15). - Added detailed output of Git sync errors.
- Added the --ignore-level and --force-level options to cl-update’s, in order to handle migrations.
- Added protection against downgrading packages when using the
migration system. - Added spinner when loading packages at upgrade time.
- Fixed CLDM’s date and time manager.
- Symbolic links now keep their owner whenever templates overlay each other.
- From now on, you don’t need to recompile the respective kernel modules when installing third party kernel sources.
- When preparing a cl-builder image, it will also mount the
/run directory. - Some Russian translations of package descriptions were updated.
- Fixed bug where utilities could not get MTYPE ISO
images. - Fixed user console output when called from PuTTY.
- Fixed multiple calls of cl-update-checker.
- Fixed crash for a binary found in /etc/portage.
- Fixed: the update level will not be incremented if the update process is interrupted.
- Fixed: connecting to a Samba resource for a user is now OK.
- Kernel updated to version 5.15.16, addressing vulnerabilities in subsystems of the Linux kernel such as USB Gadget, eBPF and VFS.
