yes, livecd works!

after installed, It’s crashed at “Load frame buffer video driver”

my new machine use Intel Pentium G630

http://ark.intel.com/products/53483/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G630-(3M-Cache-2_70-GHz)

old machine use AMD

css-20120702-x86_64.iso

should I use css-20120702-i686.iso ?

yes, livecd works!

Which version you have installed?

old machine use AMD
css-20120702-x86_64.iso

If this is the desktop, it is better to work CLDX i686

You can try to Calculate Linux 12 Beta
http://calculate.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/calculate/CLDX/stages/i686/

I have try:

css-20120702-x86_64.iso
css-11.15-x86_64.iso

livecd boot successful, but when I installed, after reboot, It’s crashed at “Load frame buffer video driver”

I also try:
css-20120705-x86_64.iso
css-20120706-x86_64.iso
when livecd boot, some error occurred。so I CAN’T use.

i686 support 64bit?

I will be able to see on Monday. Try CLS, if you want to build desktops.

Now, I test use pre verison, css-11.12-i686.iso

i686 system, it’s 32bit, I installed the memory only 3G, not 4G.

My machine is a server, not for desktop. so I need x86_64. :frowning:

I test css-11.12-i686.iso, it’s success.

I test css-11.12-x86_64.iso, same problem, (Installed OK, but reboot after grub and enter into boot failed)

why? My CPU: Intel Pentium G630
http://ark.intel.com/products/53483/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G630-(3M-Cache-2_70-GHz)
Instruction Set: 64-bit

another, I installed css-11.12-i686.iso, I only can install 32bit soft, for example uwsgi, tell me ~x86, not ~amd64. and “top” command view memory only 3G, my real memory is 4G. so i686 is 32bit.

why I boot livecd(x86_64) success? but after installed boot system failed?

my server hardwares like this:

http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=u421204au&c=au&l=en&s=bsd&cs=aubsd1&model_id=poweredge-r210-2

Intel® Pentium® G630 Processor, 2.70GHz, 3MB Cache, 2C/2T, 65W [Included in Price]

4GB Memory (2x2GB) 1333MHz Single Rank UDIMMs for 1 Processor [Included in Price]

500GB 3.5-inch 7.2K RPM SATA II Hard Drive - Non Hotplug

Why css-20120702 x86_64 livecd boot success, but when I installed CAN’T boot success?

i686 is a 32-bit build and x86_64 is naitive 64-bit

so ,It’s x86_64, not i686, but after install x86_64, it’s boot failed.

If your CPU has x86_64 support then either i686 or x86_64 Linux will work. If your CPU lacks x86_64 support then only i686 will work. ___mikelangelo11

Same Machine, I install CentOS6.2-x86_64.iso, everything are OK

I too testing css-11.12-x86_64.iso. after installation, the system is too not load. But after second restart, system is loading. You can check the system is booted after the second reboot?

I used css-20120706-x86_64.iso
