Hello to all members of the forum!
I have one problem.
I want to update hardened kernel to 4.4.2. I am currently on 4.1.
Problem is - whether 4.4.2 is stable or unstable kernel ?
According to
https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/sys-kernel/hardened-sources
it is stable.
When I tried to install that kernel, message followed that I need to unmask package.
Stable or unstable ?

Hi, You can run ‘eix hardened-sources’ to find a stable version.

I know, thank you. Problem is that when I run ‘eix hardened-sources’,it seems that 4.4.2 is a stable package.
Why is stable package masked ?
Please attach the output of command
eix hardened-sources

I have the similar problem with Firefox. Package 38.7.1 is stable, according to eix results. But,it is masked. Why ?

Unfortunatelly,my wifi drivers broke again after update. So many problems with Calculate linux.
Can you install inxi and post the result of
emerve -q inxi
inxi -F
?
We can know what is your wireless card and which driver used.

Do you have some problems with Intel ?

I have problems with both cards. They used to work wery well, and, after an update, there is no wifi connection.
Very Strange.
When you updated, the update process was arrived to the end without errors ?

Yes. Many times my wifi was broken. First time, when I updated to kernel newer than 4.1. And,after new update, everything seems to work without problems. But just after I restated my system, wifi was broken.
What is your kernel version ?
uname -a
Did you try tu load manuallu the driver ?
modprobe rt2800usb

Thank you. I tried, but without sucess.
I have been using hardened-sources 4.1 kernel.
Why you don’t use the calculate-sources (official) ?

Because there is no official data about Calculate sources on gentoo page.
https://packages.gentoo.org/categories/sys-kernel
There is no any info about that kernel,so I don’t know if it is stable or not. Anyway,my drivers are broken, regardless of kernel that I used. Update broke my drivers.
